In the early days, when Tenjin’s essence split between the guardian and the shadow, a mysterious event took place that remains whispered in hushed tones among the elders of Blood Oak. Not only did Tenjin's spirit bifurcate, but so too did an object of immense power: his ancestral katana, the origin of his demise.

When Kojiro, the embodiment of Tenjin’s darker nature, was born, he yearned for an instrument that resonated with his essence. In the obsidian forges of the Underworld in Kyndafir, under a moonless night, the Shadowfang Blade was born. Bathed in the ethereal flames of Tenjin's suppressed rage and sorrow, the blade emerged as dark as the void itself. But it lacked a hilt—a soul—to tether its power.

The shadows answered his silent call, and from the depths of his memories and the darkness of hidden pain emerged a panther, with eyes that burned yellow bright. As the panther roared, the darkness around them became tangible, shaping and molding until it formed the intricate hilt of the Shadowfang Blade. The panther's jaws, open in an eternal roar, clutched the blade, becoming its guardian.
It was not just a weapon, but a manifestation of Kojiro’s power, a symbol of Tenjin's internal struggles, and the tangible representation of his battle with his own demons. Every slash of the Shadowfang Blade is not merely an attack but a cry—a lament of the guardian's journey and sacrifices, of the love he left behind, and of memories that threaten to drown him.

To wield the Shadowfang Blade is not just to hold a weapon. It is to hold the pain, sorrow, and rage of Tenjin's shadow self.
