The Story

There is a sorrow to her—not the weeping kind, but the heavy, silent weight that bends the spine over years. The drawers in her room gape wide, emptied of the memories they were meant to cradle. Behind her bed, a fan from her past unfurls in ghostly stillness—a canvas of lives she once lived but can no longer name. She walks on, as all do when burdened by the merciless erosion of time, though with every step forward, it seems she leaves more of herself behind.
THE ARCHIVE
MYTHOS

Himiko is said to carve small animals when her mind begins to fray—especially a fox. The reason remains unknown.

ARTISTIC NOTES

For Hollow Vaults, we treated Himiko less as a figure and more as a living reliquary. Her porcelain-like skin preserves what time should have taken, while the design leans into what time actually steals: names, treasures, the weight of a memory once held with purpose. The sculpture’s utility—a jewelry box—becomes part of the narrative: a gentle, intimate ritual of opening, searching, and finding what remains.
